Causes of conflict at work

There can be many causes of workplace conflict. CIPD’s 2024 Good Work Index reported that 25% of UK employees experienced workplace conflict in the last year.

The most common forms were:

  • Being undermined/humiliated (48%)
  • Being shouted at/having heated argument (35%)
  • Verbal abuse/ insult (34%)
  • Discriminatory behaviour (20%)
