The importance of support for employees

The death of someone you know by suicide can deeply affect health and wellbeing. It may cause sadness, stress and worry. Some people may even think about suicide themselves.

People affected by suicide can be bereaved (close family, friends), exposed (colleagues, witnesses) or impacted (community members).

Without support, employees may struggle with their work or feel isolated.

Having a clear plan in place helps workplaces:

  • Support employee wellbeing
  • Keep people in work
  • Build resilience
  • Help employees when they need it most
