The importance of supporting Wales Nature Week at work
Established in 2002, Wales Nature Week is an annual week of nature-themed events co-ordinated by the Wales Biodiversity Partnership.
Over the course of 10 days, people and organisations come together to appreciate and enjoy the nature that surrounds us in Wales.
Benefits of connecting with nature at work
When workplaces encourage employees to connect with nature, it can make a big difference to how employees feel.
A workplace that encourages time to connect with nature can help teams stay healthier, happier and more motivated in their jobs.
Benefits for workplaces include:
- Increased productivity – Employees who feel supported and less stressed tend to work more efficiently
- Increased employee retention – Workers are more likely to stay with a company who support their wellbeing and the wellbeing of the nature that surrounds them
- Improved company reputation – Organisations that promote clear policies on nature and supporting the environment attract more people
- Strengthened team morale – A healthy work environment creates positive relationships and teamwork
