How Public Health Wales supports menopause and wellbeing at work
During Menopause Awareness Month, we want to share how Public Health Wales has strengthened support for staff experiencing menopause by raising awareness, providing guidance and resources, embedding menopause within its wellbeing and equality initiatives and encouraging open conversations across the organisation.
Through manager support, flexible working, workplace adjustments and peer support initiatives such as the Menopause Café, Public Health Wales is helping to create a more inclusive, understanding and menopause-friendly workplace where staff feel supported to thrive.
If you want to share how your organisation is supporting health and wellbeing at work, get in touch to share your story.
Call for employers to promote flu vaccinations
As an employer in Wales, you play an important role in keeping your workforce healthy and helping to reduce the spread of flu.
Public Health Wales has developed a range of communications resources to help employers promote flu vaccination in the workplace. By encouraging eligible staff to get vaccinated, you can help protect your workforce, reduce sickness absence and support public health across Wales.
Access the resources on the PHW website or download from the Brandkit platform.
Thank you for helping us protect people in Wales against flu this winter.
Why Gender Equality Matters in the Workplace
Too many people in Wales experience poor health or shorter lives because of avoidable and unfair health inequalities. The recently published Why Gender Matters: Child Poverty and Health Inequalities report from Public Health Wales and Liverpool John Moores University has found that gender inequality is a key driver of child poverty and health inequalities in Wales.
Employers can help by embedding fair work principles, including access to secure hours, fair pay and create opportunities for development and progression.
